Riviera - Made in Japan - Offset solid body Circa 1970's

At Herscheid & the Headbangers : Riviera electric guitar in very good cosmetic condition and also in good working order.

Where to begin... The Strat headstock, the Explorer type baseball neck, the SG/Jaguar/Firebird/Strat inspired offset solid body. If there's a name or design inspiration for that shape of body please hit us up as we are truly curious about it.

The wires inside the guitar are the ones with the metal shielding around the cable that act like the ground. That suggest that the guitar is more from the 1970's than the late 1960's as the use of the zero fret was more popular and this one doesn't have it.

The single coils are impressively silent, no buzz or hum. We cleaned the pots. They produce the clean, defined sound of a single coil but we felt it was more on the mids than a strat. The body is carved pretty much everywhere under the pickguard so it'll pick up bangs on the pickguard if you are a heavy hitter.

We also polished the frets, there's a reasonable amount of life left in them. Nice and clean action, no fret buzz anywhere. To no surprise the neck is absolutely straight and should remain like this for the next 100 years. Would definitely fall into the vintage D/Baseball neck category. Very pleasant to play it's still super comfortable.
