Robert's Yamaha M512

July 2026. Description of the work done:

-Full Recap. Nichicon / Nichicon Muse Bipolar

-New lights in the VU meters

-Pots and faders cleaned. Grounding connections cleaned.

-Polarity switch installed on every channel. Top position corresponds to the mixer's original wiring, middle position is OFF, down is reversed polarity.

-One Main Program send ON / OFF switch installed on every channel. Up position = OFF, Down = signal passes.

(Note: Foldback, Echo and direct outs are functional evebn if the switch is in the upper position)

-Direct out installed on every channel. Mono signal via TS 1/4" jack. Post EQ and fader.

-Some routine connections reinforcement where these mixers are known to be a bit more fragile. 

Note: Right needle of the VU meter will not always fully go back to rest position. In my opinion it's best to leave it as is because it's fragile and no replacement parts are hard to find. Plus the readings once the needle is moving are accurate so I wouldn't play with it. 

Note: I had an extra plastic knob for the headphones selector switch. It's installed so you have a fully original M512. Thanks for your support.
