Yamaha SAS-ii Japan Semiacoustic guitar 1988 - 1991 - Dark blue

Yamaha SAS-ii in very good condition, direct import from japan. The pictures have been taken on 2 different days to reflect how the blue comes out. In most cases the guitar will appear black unless the sun or a spotlight shines on it. It's a really nice paint job.

The SAS-ii is a late-1980s japanese-made, small-bodied semi-hollow electric guitar, often compared to a gibson es-339 for its compact size and comfort. Built with a maple top and back around a birch center block, paired with a mahogany set neck and rosewood fretboard, it offers the resonance of a hollow body with the focus and control of a solid instrument.

Light, well balanced, and extremely ergonomic, it invites long sessions without fatigue while delivering clarity, warmth, and punch in equal measure.

Condition:
• Overall very good with minimal signs of use (light scratches near the jack - see the second-to-last picture)
• Neck is straight. I never had to touch the truss rod on it, but it responded well 1/4 of a turn both ways.
• Lots of frets remaining, clean and smooth across the board.
• Excellent playability from first position to the upper register. Action is set quite low for now, I'll be happy to set it up to your preference before shipping.
• Tuning stability outstanding thanks to those ultra-smooth machines. The bridge hardware and tuning keys are discolored consistently with Japan's humid weather.

The pots are operating flawlessly - no scratchy sounds and they turn very smoothly.
